Among Makita Shoten's umbrellas, this one is designed for portability, weighing just 150g (about the weight of a standard paperback book). It's perfect for commuting to work or school or for outings, and is a must-have for sudden rain showers. It also features UV protection, so it can be used as a parasol.

"Repel." was born in collaboration with textile designer Ugai Kanna. Utilizing the techniques Makita Shoten has cultivated over the years, they have applied a water-repellent finish to even the most difficult textured fabrics, resulting in a light, thin, and transparent fabric. While the umbrella size is designed for women, it is available in a wide range of colors and is easy to use for both men and women, making it a recommended choice for men as well. This folding umbrella combines functionality and beauty.

Kanna Ugai

Textile designer. Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University and its graduate school. In 2017, she launched the fashion brand "Ugai" and holds two ordering events per year. Her diverse design proposals, which expand from a single textile, continue to attract many fans.
