Since 1866, we have progressed our domain from merchandising the regional textile to creating and selling original textiles by ourselves, not hesitating to the change of time, kept on investing talents and equipment to create something special. It is because people of Nishikatsura and Gunnai textile region has been supporting us constantly and we could create textile based on this beautiful region. We are the company who is and will always with the region and we move forward to the future together.

沿革
CORPORATE HISTORY
1866 opened the exchange space for silk textile in Tanimura (Tsuru city)
1877 started a wholesale business of Kaiki silk
1913 established Makita Shoten kk and put head office in Yamanashi and branch office in Tokyo and Osaka
1923 Tokyo branch was destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake and closed both Tokyo and Osaka office
1930 re-started Makita Shoten as a joint stock company
1942 interrupted business by the world war 2
1946 re-started Makita Shoten as private shop
1954 changed main product from liner textile to umbrella textile
1956 started weaving yarn dyed yarn polyester textile for umbrella
1973 started producing scarf
1978 established Makita Shoten Kabushiki-kaisha (kk) and started weaving garment textiles
1989 introducing yarn dyed yarn pattern designing computer
1995 introducing design layout computer and test weaving machine
1996 established 1st weaving factory
2004 introducing new personal computer system for pattern designing
2006 introducing new personal computer for design layout
2008 established 2nd weaving factory
2015 established 3nd weaving factory
