Umbrella of Yokohama Long Umbrella (Powhatan Small)
A rain and sun umbrella born from a collaboration linked to Japan's Silk Road
Marca continues to deliver beautiful, colorful silk scarves from Yokohama. By combining the techniques of Makita Shoten, which has inherited the tradition of Kai silk, with Marca's designs, a special, one-of-a-kind long umbrella has been created.
This scarf features the "Stained Glass/Powhatan," a traditional Yokohama scarf that has been a popular item for a long time.
The main design is the "large stained glass" at the "Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall" that is based on the Powhatan. It is loved by the people of Yokohama as the "Jack" of the Yokohama Three Towers, likened to a playing card.
The bottom of the umbrella features images of ships such as the Hikawa Maru, which were active in different eras, and the four corners feature the Nippon Maru, a designated Important Cultural Property. As the name suggests, the design evokes the transparency of stained glass shining in the light shining through a window.
The small size features a total of four Powhatan ships, and is beautiful even when viewed from the side, allowing you to enjoy their delicacy and presence.
