The exhibition of umbrellas and parasols made by textile makers @monova gallery starts again this year

This year marks the fourth umbrella and parasol exhibition held by textile shop Makita Shoten.
It will start tomorrow, June 16th, at the gallery of the monova showroom in Shinjuku.

"Mottainai" is a wonderful word that has gained attention around the world, and with this as our keyword, we want to create umbrellas that are not just "things" that provide protection from the rain and sun, but that cherish the culture rooted in the Japanese climate.
At this exhibition, we will be introducing rain gear that will help you enjoy the season when the weather is prone to change, with a focus on the new "fusion" series.

New product "fusion"
To celebrate our 150th anniversary, we have undertaken a new challenge. We have invited frankygrow, a children's apparel brand based in Yamanashi that distributes to the world, to oversee the design of our new series, "fusion." It combines the yarn-dyed textile techniques that have been passed down since the Edo period with frankygrow's "simple pop" designs. While at first glance they may seem like oil and water, we invite you to experience the chemistry between Makita Shoten and frankygrow.
