Introduction of equipment

Facilities to make new creation possible

Facilities that enable creation

Facilities that stimulate creativity

There are a total of 10 looms in the first, second, third and trial weaving factories.
As we have one of the few large-scale electronic jacquard machines in Japan, we can produce fabrics up to 180cm wide.
With umbrella fabric, you can freely weave patterns into each piece.
Furthermore, because our company philosophy has been to promote the development of the entire production area, rather than just focusing on our own profits, we are able to produce fabrics with a wide variety of textures by collaborating with processing and dyeing factories in Fujiyoshida and Nishikatsura.
Makita Shoten has been with us since the beginning of Japanese fashion history, and has always sought out new compositions, textures, and expressions in its creations.
In line with this, the factory has always looked to the future and invested in equipment, and although compact, it is equipped with the facilities to turn the ideas of creators into reality.

CO2 reduction efforts

Utilization of renewable energy

Aiming to reduce environmental impact and realize a sustainable society, Makita Shoten has switched the electricity used in its weaving factory to 100% green electricity from June 1, 2024.

As a result, CO2 emissions from electricity consumption over the past two years (approximately 101 tons/year) will be reduced to zero, and an annual reduction of 101,000 kg of CO2 is expected. This is equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by approximately 7,214 cedar trees in one year, and will have an environmental impact equivalent to a forest area approximately 1.5 times the size of the Tokyo Dome (approximately 7.2 hectares).

Furthermore, we have installed in-house solar power generation in our offices, and are working to reduce CO2 emissions associated with electricity consumption in daily operations.

[Examples of initiatives]

  • The factory's electricity is supplied by hydroelectric power (local production and consumption model), utilizing clean energy generated at the local Shiokawa Power Plant in Yamanashi Prefecture.
  • Installing solar power generation in-house at our office
  • Utilizing recycled materials.
  • All lighting in the factory has been converted to LED, optimizing power consumption.
  • We work in partnership with local communities, collaborating with local businesses and local governments to promote the use of renewable energy.
