We express our designs using the fabric-making techniques that Makita Shoten has cultivated.

Stig Lindberg was born in Umeå, Sweden in 1916. He is a ceramic artist and designer.
After graduating from the Swedish Academy of Arts, Crafts and Design, he joined Gustavsberg in 1937 and became its creative director in 1949.
He is the most famous designer who supported the company during its heyday, with numerous masterpieces that were born from his insatiable curiosity and rare talent.
From ceramic works, tableware and textile designs to industrial design, graphics, picture books and public art,
He is Sweden's greatest post-war creator, active in a wide range of fields.
2016 is a memorable year for Lindberg, marking his 100th birthday and the 150th anniversary of Makita Shoten's founding.
This collaboration marks a new initiative between the two companies.
Under the strict supervision of the Lindberg family, we conducted numerous trial weavings, and used our fine-count, high-density yarn-dyed jacquard technology, which we have cultivated over many years.
We have a lineup that reproduces the original design.
The popular "POTTERY" and "HERBARIUM" textile designs were Lindberg's first projects in 1947.
In addition to "FRUKTLADA" from 1956, a total of four designs, "DRAPES," a newly digitized version of hand-painted earthenware designs that Lindberg created in the early days of his career, will be available in a variety of color variations.
The delicate and luxurious umbrellas are woven in-house, UV treated, sewn, and assembled by hand one by one.
All work is done in-house, making this a product of our unique technology.
