Makita Shoten Umbrella & Muto Stole Exhibition @ Yatsugatake Club
Starting on Thursday, May 9th, 2019, we will be holding an event titled "Makida Shoten Umbrella & Muto's Stole Exhibition" on the stage of the Yatsugatake Club, which is surrounded by beautiful fresh greenery, in collaboration with Muto, a fellow Gunma textile manufacturer and stole brand!
The main item from Makita Shoten this time is a new product called "Yatsugatake Forest," an umbrella suitable for both rain and sun, woven with the image of the Yatsugatake Club forest.
Utilizing the manufacturing method of multicolored jacquard fabric, the changes over time in the Yatsugatake Club Forest
- Expresses morning mist, late afternoon, and dusk.
The design incorporates plants that are representative of the Yatsugatake Club's woodland, such as hydrangea, rengeshoma, mountain azalea, and snowbell, and accents the design with a wooden approach created by the Yagyu family. Makita Shoten's specialty is depicting scenery that fills the spaces between the umbrellas (triangles), and the view from each space changes, making it feel like you're walking through the forests of Yatsugatake.
The store will also feature Muto's flagship products, including shawls made from ultra-fine silk in a wide range of colors, as well as a variety of umbrella series from Makita Shoten.
Please come and visit Yatsugatake to enjoy the beautiful fresh greenery!
*The Yatsugatake Club was opened in 1989 by actor and TV personality Hiroshi Yagyu and his family, who moved to Yatsugatake in 1976. They created a grove of trees with their own hands, and the club has a gallery showcasing artists, a stage, and is famous for the fruit tea made by Mrs. Yagyu. People from all over Japan visit the club to enjoy the nature of Yatsugatake (birds and plants), cuisine, cafes, design, art, and more.
