Founded in 1866, Makita Shoten is the only factory in the world that carries out all production processes, from weaving umbrella fabric to assembling the umbrellas. This time, Makita Shoten's textile designers will be presenting sustainable products made from yarns they have collected over the years.

A wide variety of threads are collected at textile factories. Some threads are woven into fabric and shipped, but of course, some are not. Makita Shoten has long treasured this beautiful thread dyed with spring water from Mount Fuji, hoping to one day make use of it.
Questioning the consumer society that changes with the times, Makita Shoten has been proposing umbrellas that we want people to use for a long time. Now that we are able to freely manufacture original products, the time has come to use "YARN = thread."
Using this collection of yarns, we have created textile designs with textures that make you want to touch them, and each umbrella and textile item is handcrafted by an artisan. As these items are made using limited yarns from dead stock, they are all limited in quantity.
We consider the fabric design to match the thread. Please enjoy the unveiling of this luxurious umbrella.
